Even at the Doors is a two-part process. I completed the first part in 2006 with the writing of the book, Even at the Doors: Jesus, Israel, and the End-Times. The second part is this web site which I created in 2007. The subtitle of my book explains the purpose of Even at the Doors. It is to give the public a biblical understanding of what God says is going to happen to humanity in the future. As you browse through this web site you will see that I believe it is going to happen to humanity in the near future.
I have studied biblical prophecy since I became a Christian in 1981. This study included reading many Christian leader's prophecy writings and listening to their teachings. However, it is the study of the Bible itself which is the most revealing to the student of prophecy. As the apostle Paul wrote: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). Although I had read the Bible many times, I saw things in a new light as I wrote this book. I am not claiming that God gave special revelations to me as far as historical Christianity is concerned, just that He opened my eyes to things that I had never seen before. It is possible that some of the events I write about in my book may also be new to the reader at large.
I decided to divide my book into three sections. Part One deals with the prophecies that spoke of a suffering Messiah. The term Messiah means the anointed one of God. He was to be the savior of humankind in general and the Jews in particular. However, Jews to this day reject the concept of a Messiah who had to suffer for His people. They focus on the biblical prophecies that spoke of a conquering Messiah. This has led to a rejection of Jesus as the Messiah by the Jews as a nation. In Part One, which is titled The First Coming of the Messiah, I discuss the many prophecies in the Old Testament which clearly speak of a Messiah who must suffer for the sins of His people. I show how Jesus fulfilled every prophecy that told of this Messiah. Thus, my intention in Part One was to illustrate that just as Jesus fulfilled every prophecy concerning the suffering Messiah, so too He will fulfill all of the prophecies that speak of a conquering Messiah.
In Part Two, which is titled, The Second Coming of the Messiah, I go through both Old and New Testament prophecies that tell of a conquering Messiah and the events that surround His coming. The subjects of the various chapters include End-Times events such as the Rapture, the Antichrist, the Tribulation Period, Armageddon, the Second Coming of Jesus, the Millennium, the Great White Throne judgment, Hell, and Eternity. After working through Part Two, the reader will have a better understanding of End-Times events and how they may take place in our modern era.
Part Three, entitled, God's Timepiece: The Land of Israel illustrates why I believe that the End-Times are nearer than most people think. The focus of many End-Times prophecies center on the land of Israel and the Jews' residence there. From 135 A.D. until 1947, the Jews were dispersed throughout the world. Yet, by the hand of God through world events, they returned to the land in 1948. This is significant because many of the prophesied End-Times events (such as the rebuilding of the Third Jewish Temple) could not have taken place until the Jews were in the land again. Now that this has occurred, the table is set for God to initiate the countdown to the return of Jesus Christ and the events leading up to it.
Although I don't claim to be a good author (I wish that I could have afforded a Christian editor), I wrote concerning a subject that I am passionate about. I used scripture references to support the points that I made concerning biblical prophecy. I believe that End-Times prophecy is the most relevant subject to humanity there is (a Jewish follower of Jesus Christ liked to say, "If you want to read tomorrow's headlines then read the Bible"). I didn't want to go through the process of trying to get my book published so I turned to self-publishing. If you think the subject of End-Times may be of interest to you, then you can go to the following self-publishing web site: Lulu.com where the book sells for $12.95. Otherwise, you can read the preface, any chapter, and the epilogue on this web site.
This is the second web site that I have designed. The first one I created in 2004 and originally had to do with the Culture War between Christianity and the rest of the world. In 2011 I wiped out the entire site and replaced it with the straightforward message of true salvation. You can find it at: iesouschristos.com My purpose for creating this new web site was to give those not familiar with what the Bible says is going to happen at the end of the current age a reference of biblically-based information concerning the End-Times. The foundation for this web site is giving the reader access to every chapter of my book Even at the Doors: Jesus, Israel, and the End-Times. There you will find apocalyptic events discussed in some detail. On this site I include a glossary of many biblical terms that you may have heard Christians or others use such as the Rapture, Mark of the Beast, Millennium etc. I also have a section where you can read todays news headlines and their possible connection to some End-Times event. I've included links to other web sites (such as the rollover image at the top of my home page that links to the Temple Institute organization which hopes to rebuild the Third Temple) that have End-Times related information. You will find images of locations where some of the End-Times events will take place. As I quoted above, the Bible gives us tomorrow's headlines today. Hopefully, this site will spark a curiosity in you to research further the subjects I discuss here.
Some of the recent bestsellers have the End-Times for their themes. The record-breaking Left Behind series and Joel Rosenberg's apocalyptic political thrillers have been read by millions. I believe the reason for this is because people see the world getting worse and worse (as the Bible predicts it will: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." - 2 Timothy 3:1-5). They can see that the world is falling apart and are looking for comfort to get them through the tough days ahead. Jesus said that a day of trouble is coming on the earth "such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be" (Matthew 24:21). However, followers of Jesus Christ are not to become fearful of what lies ahead. That is because God has revealed to humanity through the Bible His plans for the future. As the apostle Paul told the Christians of his day concerning the End-Times, "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do" (1 Thessalonians 5:1-11). If you want to be comforted by the words of God then you can go to Chapter 19 - Today is the day of Salvation! and read how to become a follower of Jesus Christ. Doing so will give you comfort not only in the future but also in the present. May God bless and speak to you as you read through this web site.
I suggest that you start with the epilogue which gives the present status of the world as it relates to End-Times events. The other chapters that I recommend are Chapter 13 which deals with Hell and all of Part Three which gives you the background history of Israel and will help you understand the current conflict in the Middle East.
