What are the End-Times?

"Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure." - Isaiah 46-9-10

Many religions have apocalyptic scenarios which they believe will occur at the end of the world. There are individuals throughout history that have claimed to have prophetic insight into the end of the world. One such person is Nostradamus. However, the Bible makes it clear that only God knows how human history will conclude. He created the human race and has interacted with it both personally and through historical events.

God laid out His plans for humanity in His word, the Holy Bible. He created humans to be His children and to love Him as He loves us. He gave us the capacity to love or hate Him and our fellow human beings. History has shown that we have failed God time and time again. God knew this would be the result of giving humans free-will. Therefore He sent His Son Jesus Christ to make it possible for us to remain in fellowship with Him in this life and throughout eternity. For the past 2000 years, Christians have been spreading this plan throughout the world. However, God also is a righteous judge and His plans include the final judgment upon those humans and nations who continuously rebel against Him and perform evil acts against others. This judgment includes many natural and supernatural events which will take place during what Christians call the End-Times.

Many people want to see God as a all-loving, all-merciful, and all-forgiving God. He is! But He also makes clear in His word that He is a righteous Judge who will not let sin and evil go unpunished. That is why He sent His Son to take the punishment for a world that should have been punished. However, He also makes it clear that if we reject the sentence that He passed on Jesus Christ, then we will have to receive His full punishment on ourselves. Because we have free-will we can sit in judgment of God and call Him hateful and evil for punishing sinners. But the angels know that His punishment is just, "And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments." - Revelation 16:5-7 Thus the Bible lays out what these judgments will entail and many of them are horrific.

Once before God judged humankind when it had become so wicked that the earth cried out for a cleansing. He caused a flood to come upon the earth which almost destroyed the human race. After this judgment God promised that He would never flood the earth again in order to judge His human creations. However, He did promise through His prophets that one day there would be a final judgment of the earth and its inhabitants that would end the current age. These prophecies are throughout the Old and New Testaments. Jesus said that when you see these prophecies begin to come to pass know that the end is near, even at the doors. Thus God wants His human creations to know what lies ahead and to look for the signs that show that He is ready to judge the earth.

Although wickedness has always been a part of human history, the Bible makes it clear that it will increase as the time gets closer: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." - 2 Timothy 3:1-5 There are many other signs to look for such as an increase in plagues, pestilences, earthquakes, and wars. Human governments looking for a united Global government which can maintain a world economy and organization which will have "a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof". This form will declare that there are many paths to God and that the followers of Jesus Christ are narrowminded. The restoration of the land of Israel to the Jews is the overriding fulfillment of End-Times prophecy. Now that this event has occurred, the other prophecies can take place at God's bidding.

It is the purpose of this web site to lay out what the Bible says are God's plans for the End-Times. You will find numerous specific biblical references to support the material found here. The Bible declares that human beings will react differently to the prophetic promises God made. The apostle Peter wrote, "This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless." - 2 Peter 3:1-14 You too have the free will to either accept God's word about His Son Jesus Christ and His Second Coming or you can be one of the scoffers that Peter spoke of here. If you choose to be a scoffer then realize that you may be fulfilling the prophecy that Peter declared here. May God bless your search for the truth.
