Satan imprisoned for 1000 years

At Jesus' second coming, one of the first acts He committed was the casting of the Antichrist and False Prophet into the lake of hellfire. However, He allows Satan to exist one thousand more years before He brings down His final judgment upon him. This will not be much of an "existence" since God is going to restrain Satan until at the very end of those thousand years.

After John sees Jesus return to the earth and after Jesus judges the nations of the world, he wrote what he witnessed next:

"1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season." (Revelation 20:1-3)

With this action the angel of the Lord removes satanic influence from the earth. Jesus now renovates the earth into a bountiful and fruitful planet over which He will reign for a thousand years. The humans who repopulate the earth during the Millennium will be freed from the Devil's authority to harass and oppress them. They will still have free will though to make good and bad decisions. If their bad choices adversely affect others Jesus will judge them swiftly with a "rod of iron". At the end of the Millennium God allows Satan to be loosed for one final battle. God will deal summarily with him and bring him to his final fate.
